If you’ve found my page, I recognize that you may be here after searching for a therapist and you may be questioning if I’d be a great fit before calling or scheduling and you’d like to know a little bit more about me and my style of therapy.

If you are struggling with thoughts of not being good enough, feelings of unworthiness, as if you do not belong, maybe feeling stuck or helpless. These are heavy feelings and I can help carry the weight with you. At times we get stuck, feeling unsatisfied in our lives and just keep plugging away because that’s the expectation, we grin and bare it and continue. I am here to let you know that you deserve so much more than that persistent feeling of trudging through life and together we can find those opportunities beyond the barriers. I am here to promote your desire to build a more meaningful life.

I will be here to listen, reflect, and work with you or your partner, or your family, depending on your needs.  individuals, couples and families together we can identify effective and use strategies that equip you to confidently manage whatever life throws your way. Maybe you also have powerful emotions and often feel like “too much” and at the same time not enough. You might express so much kindness towards others, and find yourself feeling drained and not cared for. I want to help you as you realize areas of your life that are no longer acceptable. I want to help you find a direction in your life, have more meaningful experiences, and find balance in your life.

When we begin our counseling journey together it’s common to feel overwhelmed or exhausted before we even start. In our work together, I am here to provide a therapeutic environment that gives you a safe space to explore yourself and your life situation. If you’re skeptical about starting therapy, I’m here to talk through concerns, questions, and what to expect.

I want to help you overcome the discomfort you may be experiencing by not feeling yourself, not feeling satisfied or happy, that can make daily life feel much harder. I can help you discover your identity, missing connection, and meaning from day to day. In our work together I provide connection, hope, and empowerment that allows you to be heard, seen, and understood.

You have my support and you are exactly where you need to be. Therapy with me does not mean instant changes and rigid expectations, we work together to create realistic goals that are effective in our ever-changing circumstances.

I show up fully to our work and ask that as we develop our therapeutic relationship, that you allow yourself to do the same. It can be difficult to realize when we need support in a culture that emphasizes self-reliance. It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to get support. It’s okay to not be okay all the time.

If you’re asking. “how do I know when it’s the right time to reach out?” It’s time. Waiting rarely helps. I am ready to take your call today. We can speak for about 15 minute Phone Consult as we discuss what you’re facing and if we would be a good fit. Let’s work through your hesitations to heal.

Take good care,

Michelle Godun, LMHC
